AdvanceCT Marketing Leader
AdvanceCT is a collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit that works to grow the Connecticut economy by driving job creation and capital investment, in partnership with the business community and the state. We are seeking a Vice President or Director of Marketing (depending on experience level) to lead our Marketing team.
Overview
The Marketing leader serves as AdvanceCT’s chief brand strategist and storyteller, responsible for positioning Connecticut as a top destination for business investment and innovation. This role formulates and executes strategies that strengthen Connecticut’s business brand and highlight its competitive advantages through brand management, communications, digital strategy, and team leadership. It is located in New Haven, Connecticut but also offers some opportunity for remote work. Detailed information about AdvanceCT and the Marketing leader position can be found at .
Key Responsibilities
· Support the CEO and leadership team by developing and implementing an annual marketing plan to support business attraction, retention, and expansion, and stakeholder engagement.
· Act as brand steward, ensuring consistency across all audiences and channels.
· Supervise the creation of print and digital materials, newsletters, social media, and campaigns showcasing Connecticut’s strengths as a business location.
· Manage website strategy, SEO, analytics, CRM integration, and sponsorship support.
· Lead outreach such as earned media placement, press engagement, and awards submissions.
· Oversee marketing support for major events such as trade shows, SelectUSA, and international trade missions.
· Report on campaign performance and utilize AI and digital tools for content and analytics.
· Manage the marketing team, vendors, and external agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and budget efficiency.
Qualifications
· 10+ years in marketing, communications, or brand management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
· Experience in economic development, B2B, or agency environments preferred.
· Proven success managing integrated digital and media campaigns.
· Strong storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
· Proficiency in CRM, SEO, analytics, and data-driven tools.
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or marketing certification preferred.
