A challenging opportunity is available for a self-motivated, hardworking individual, to fill the position of Accountant IV at District 3 located in beautiful Wekiwa Springs State Park. District 3 encompasses State Parks throughout the central Florida region from St. Augustine to Fellsmere, and from Ormond Beach to Ocala. This position reports to Operations Management Consultant II.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Maintains an accounting system(s) for tracking revenue collection and all budget categories for all parks within District 3.
Maintains accurate records of all expenditures and balances in District 3. Directly assist parks in tracking their expenditures and budgets. Uses motor vehicle in the performance of these duties.
Prepare reports to accurately reflect expenditures, projections, surpluses, deficits, and allocation adjustments for the District Manager.
Coordinates all budget allocations for parks in District 3. Prepare budget adjustment requests as necessary.
Provides instruction and support regarding accounting/budgetary changes necessary to maintain budget financial integrity of a Florida Park Service district. Conducts revenue and park budget trend analysis for all parks in District Three. Serves as District Liaison to Finance and Accounting, Office of Financial Management and Procurement sections.
Performs fiscal audits of all units within districts, ensuring purchasing practices adhere to Department procedures. Provides District Manager with an analysis of audits, providing recommendations for fiscal practices to assure compliance with appropriate procedures. Assists with physical inventory, as necessary, on all physical items to include sensitive items, pre-numbered forms, merchandise
inventory and bulk supplies.
Prepares and processes requisitions and field purchase orders for District office and other units within a Florida Park Service district as necessary for purchasing goods and services ensuring compliance with Department of Environmental Protections' purchasing policies and directives.
