Job Description

Are you a compassionate and motivated veterinarian looking to make a real difference while still maintaining a healthy work/life balance? Join the Central California SPCA and be part of a dedicated team that’s changing lives every day.

Why Work With Us?

At the Central California SPCA, our focus is simple: to serve the community through affordable, high-volume, high-quality spays/neuters and wellness services. We are seeking a licensed veterinarian who shares our passion for animal welfare and thrives in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.

Here, you won’t be stuck in a clinic until late at night or pulled in for emergency calls. We believe with a healthy work/life balance, you’ll be empowered to take even better care of the animals who need us.

Why Fresno?

Fresno offers the perfect blend of affordability, access to nature, and urban convenience.

  • Family Friendly : Great schools and a welcoming community.
  • City Perks Without the Chaos: You'll find everything from cultural events and breweries to shopping and dining without the traffic of LA or the price tag of the Bay Area.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries
  • Conduct pre-op exams and determine surgical eligibility
  • Provide post-op follow-up care and occasional wellness exams
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with all regulations
  • Build strong, positive relationships with clients, staff, and volunteers
  • Assist in refining and implementing clinic protocols
  • Promote the CCSPCA mission through compassionate care and community engagement

Requirements

  • Licensure in good standing to practice in California.
  • Ability to obtain a DEA license.
  • Interested in efficient Spay/Neuter technique- mentoring available.
  • Commitment to practicing high standards of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
  • Excellent client communications and ability to adapt to different environments.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and establish priorities.
  • Be in alignment with CCSPCA’s vision, mission, core values & beliefs, and positions on animal welfare.
  • New graduates welcome - we offer mentorship and support to help you build confidence.

Benefits

What We Offer:

  • No on-call or emergency hours.
  • Hands-on training and supportive mentorship for new graduates.
  • Excellent benefits, including:
    • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
