Akkodis is seeking a Systems Engineering Technician for a Contract with a client in Hillsboro, Oregon. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining a high-performing computer farm and private cloud infrastructure to support global development workflows.
Rate Range: $70/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Systems Engineering Technician job responsibilities include:
Manage and maintain a high-performing compute farm of builders, packagers, testers, and core infrastructure to support global development workflows.
Plan, deploy, and maintain on-premises private cloud infrastructure, collaborating with datacenter and network engineering teams.
Troubleshoot Linux/Windows systems, hardware, and infrastructure issues to ensure availability and meet SLAs/KPIs.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (system architects, hardware/software engineers, QA) to design, debug, and release next-generation products.
Oversee inventory and lifecycle management for company assets across data centers and labs, ensuring organization and safety standards.
Implement efficiency improvements and document SOPs, while monitoring critical metrics to optimize performance and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience in data centers or large engineering labs.
Proficiency in DCIM tools (e.g., Nautobot) and scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ansible.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows systems, hardware components (PCBs, GPUs), and private cloud infrastructure management.
