Aspire Talent Solutions is partnered with a phenomenal manufacturer on their search for a Swiss CNC Machinist/Programmer in Indianapolis, IN! This 35+ year old organization is under incredible ‘new’ leadership, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon! The Swiss CNC Machinist/Programmer position has the potential for promotion to the Production Lead role and reports directly to the General Manager.
As a Swiss Setup Machinist/Programmer, you will play a critical role in producing aerospace turned parts. This position requires a thorough understanding of setting up CNC Swiss Lathes, manual and conversational programming, and troubleshooting problems on Citizen CNC Swiss Lathes.
Responsibilities:
· Set up multi-axis Citizen Swiss Lathes (Models: L12, L20, M32) and Miyano machine tools
· Perform complete change over process and dial in parts for First Article inspection
· Develop programs for new parts and modify existing programs at the machine
· Interpret Routing Instructions, inspection reports, blueprints, specifications, and quality control plans to ensure accurate production of finished parts
· Operate Benchtop lathes and general shop equipment including saws, belt sanders, grinding and buffing wheels as needed
· Conduct thorough inspections of parts using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and various gauges to maintain precision and quality standards
Requirements:
·5+ years of CNC Swiss Lathes Setup / Change over experience required
·2+ years of hands-on CNC Swiss Programming experience (new parts)
· Accurately read drawings and blueprints; proficient understanding of GD&T principles
· Proficiency in using a variety of inspection tools and measuring devices including calipers, gages, optical comparators, and micrometers
· Proficiency with Mitsubishi controls and G & M code
· Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
· Prior experience working in a dynamic, high change over environment, preferably in a job shop setting
