SH-788 Senior Medical Writer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Medical Writer to develop high-quality, medically accurate content that supports market access and value communication initiatives. This remote, part-time role (30 35 hours per week) involves serving as the primary medical expert on assigned accounts, collaborating with internal teams to achieve client vision, and producing a range of deliverables for payer and provider audiences. The Senior Medical Writer will be responsible for both original and derivative content development, ensuring alignment with strategic brand goals and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary medical expert and strategic content lead on assigned accounts.
  • Develop high-quality, medically accurate content for various medical communication resources in print and digital formats.
  • Produce deliverables including market access materials (e.g., value proposition slide decks, competitive intelligence summaries), targeted banner ads, EHR instructions, order sets, and internal training resources.
  • Manage content development from outline through manuscript, adhering to project creative briefs and established timelines.
  • Incorporate and address feedback from Clinical Services leadership, internal teams, and clients during review cycles.
  • Conduct literature reviews and manage project-specific reference audits within designated reference management systems.
  • Develop annotations to support promotional claims and data interpretations per internal and brand standards.
  • Attend and participate in medical, legal, regulatory (MLR) review meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure all work complies with scientific standards, good publication practices, and company policies.
  • Maintain proactive and collaborative communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in key meetings including project kick-offs, weekly status updates, client presentations, and internal brainstorming sessions.
  • Contribute ideas for new business proposals and tactical planning within assigned accounts.
  • Promote and adhere to workplace values focused on client service, purpose, accountability, mutual respect, and collaboration.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 2 4 years of experience in medical communications, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry. Experience in market access/payer communications, health economics outcomes research (HEOR), or value dossier development is highly desirable.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Skills: Command of AMA style. High proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Strong familiarity with scientific search engines (PubMed, Google Scholar). Ability to translate complex scientific concepts for managed care audiences and develop engaging promotional content.
  • Location: Remote. Must maintain availability during Central Time working hours.
