Job Description

We are seeking a full-time pet care technician to be part of our fast-paced and ever-growing boarding and play care facility in the heart of downtown Austin. This is not a temporary/seasonal position; we are looking for someone who can become part of our team and grow with us. Our boarding and play care facility caters to downtown residents among other Austin areas. We specialize in boarding for dogs and cats and also host dog play care. There is rarely a week that we are not booked which makes for a bustling and interactive work environment.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate, a team player, self-motivated, focused, constantly seeks out ways to learn and grow, and can embrace our culture and share our number one goal - to give the best possible care to all of our guests. You will be directly working and handling our pet guests and take pride in the cleanliness of our facility. This is not a job where you get to sit around and play with dogs all day.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in rotating dogs in and out of the playgroup throughout the day.
• Check pet guests in and out.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all clients.
• Prepare meals for all pets in our care.
• Supervise and monitor playgroup to ensure a safe and fun environment for dogs.
• Clean suites daily (including changing cat litter boxes).
• Maintaining our indoor dog play area clean and sanitized (A lot of poop!).
• Laundry.
• Maintaining general cleanliness of the facility.
• Communicating with fellow teammates about needs and any changes in routine.
• Administer medications (including injections).
• Entering notes into software (training provided).
• Take dogs to the downstairs vet clinic as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience around dogs and cats is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to be on your feet for multiple hours at a time.
• Capable of doing extensive cleaning and laundry.
• Ability to communicate with clients effectively and politely.
• PC familiarity.
• Acknowledging that our client's pets are their family and should be handled with extreme caution and care.

Schedule: The opening shifts are from 6:00 am-3:00 pm and the closing shifts are 10 am-7 pm. Candidates should be available for both.

We provide care 365 days a year and as such, some weekend and holiday work is required.

Compensation: Pay $14.00 - $16.00 (DOE).
