**Why LKSD?**

LKSD is the **largest rural school district in Alaska**, encompassing 27 schools, 250 teachers, and approximately 4,000 Yup’ik students. Our district spans a landmass similar to the size of West Virginia, located along the stunning Kuskokwim River and Bering Sea coast.

- **Adventure Awaits**: Travel by jet from Anchorage, then by small plane, snowmobile, or boat to our village sites.

- **Cultural Enrichment**: Engage with the Yup’ik culture and support bilingual, culturally appropriate education that empowers students to thrive as responsible, productive citizens.

---

As a teacher in LKSD, you will:

- Maintain high expectations for academic success and positive behavior.

- Administer assessments to measure growth, mastery, and instructional effectiveness.

- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.

- Identify and support students at risk with targeted intervention strategies.

- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and the community.

- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and families to create a supportive learning environment.

- Participate actively in professional development and engage with the community in school and advisory committee meetings.

---

**What We’re Looking For**

- A sense of adventure and willingness to live and work in a **cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment**.

- A **valid Alaska Teaching Certificate** (or the ability to obtain one).

- A Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated commitment to effective education practices.

- A dedication to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning atmosphere.

---

**Why Choose LKSD?**

LKSD offers competitive compensation and benefits designed to support your personal and professional success:

- **Salary**: $59,831-$102,722 per year.

- **Signing Bonus**: $2,000.

- **Teacher Housing**: Subsidized housing options in many communities.

- **Travel Reimbursement**: Full flight coverage from your work site to Anchorage.

- **Training Opportunities**: Participate in our **induction teacher training program** and benefit from ongoing professional development.

---

**Step into the Opportunity of a Lifetime**

Join LKSD for the **2025-2026 school year** and experience the joy of teaching in one of the most unique and breathtaking environments in the world.
