Low Voltage Technician — Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician . The ideal candidate will have experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems—including security, fire alarms, access control, audio-visual, and structured cabling solutions.
Install, test, and maintain low voltage systems including data, voice, and video cabling
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, and access control
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to complete installations
Pull and terminate cables with precision (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, etc.)
Work safely with tools, ladders, and lifts, following all safety regulations
Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure timely completion
Document work completed and communicate updates clearly with stakeholders
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred
Proven experience in low voltage electrical work or structured cabling
Knowledge of NEC standards and local building codes
Ability to read blueprints and system layouts
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Certifications (e.g., BICSI, NICET, OSHA 10/30) a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, crouch, and climb ladders
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
Standing or walking for extended periods
