Head of Curriculum 

Gameplan is an award-winning EdTech company that helps schools prepare students for tech careers in Game Design and Cybersecurity through our all-in-one learning platform. We work directly with K-12 schools, districts, and education programs to increase student engagement and prepare learners for future careers in gaming and creative technology.

We’re now looking for a Head of Curriculum to lead the design, development, and evolution of Gameplan’s learning content. Someone who combines deep expertise in CTE with a passion for building engaging, classroom-ready experiences. Your mission is to ensure our curriculum is high-quality, standards-aligned, and truly impactful for teachers and students across the U.S.

Responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role with broad ownership over curriculum quality and development . You’ll recruit subject matter experts and instructors, design and review course content, and ensure every learning experience meets Gameplan’s standards for excellence.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Oversee the entire content development lifecycle , from planning to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.

  • Plan, review, and refine content for Game Design and Cybersecurity pathways, ensuring material is both technically accurate and engaging for learners.

  • Align courses to CTE frameworks and relevant industry standards , ensuring compliance and classroom applicability.

  • Oversee certification design and alignment , supporting pathways that lead to recognized credentials.

  • Collaborate with educators and school partners to gather insights and ensure Gameplan’s curriculum fits real classroom needs.

  • Ensure consistency and quality across all courses in tone, structure, and learning experience.

  • Lead and support the curriculum team , conducting regular 1:1s with curriculum writers, video editors, graphic designers, and pathway managers.

  • Recruit and manage top-tier instructors who are subject-matter experts in their fields.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement across Gameplan’s curriculum and content ecosystem.

  • Champion pedagogical innovation , experimenting with new learning formats to keep Gameplan’s content cutting-edge.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong sense of ownership and a clear point of view on curriculum design and educational impact.

  • Proven track record in curriculum development and instructional design, ideally in digital or blended learning environments.

  • Extensive experience with Career and Technical Education (CTE) in U.S. high schools, with a deep understanding of how these programs operate and succeed.

  • Understanding of educational standards and frameworks, such as Common Core, state CTE frameworks, or national career readiness standards.

  • Deep understanding of teachers and students , and how to craft engaging, effective classroom experiences.

  • Passion for continuous improvement , always seeking ways to enhance the curriculum and overall product experience.

  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills — able to align teams, support colleagues, and create an environment where everyone feels seen and valued.
