COMPENSATION:

Hourly Pay Range: $17.65 - $28.00

(this pay range represents the rates of pay for step 1 to the maximum step for this position in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The starting pay for the successful candidate will start at step 1)

JOB SUMMARY:

To prepare, and stock grocery items for sales to customers, and process their orders through the checkstand. Unload, scan, bag the customer’s order. Collect money and process checks and other forms of currency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to the Store Manager but may receive specific assignments and direct supervision from management group, in performance of duties
• Stocking merchandise for sale to include opening cases, price marking items, placing merchandise on shelves; rotates the shelf stock; ordering merchandise only when instructed by supervision
• Place labels, shelf tagging, and performs price changes
• Dusts and cleans merchandise, shelves, and shelf molding and keeps aisles clear of trash, cartons, equipment and other obstacles
• Familiar with store layout and location of emergency and safety equipment
• Unload merchandise from customer baskets, scan their order, and collect money
• Operates cash register, assists in packaging groceries
• Maintain good customer relations
• Other related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma is preferred but not required
• To be able to relate to management and customers well
• Ability to read product labels, shelf tags and equipment instructions
• Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to perform basic math calculations
• Must maintain a sense of integrity
• Must be well groomed
• Able to communicate
